Korea Tourism Shines Spotlight on MICE Travel at Mumbai Roadshow News June 9, 2025 | Press Release The Korea Tourism Organisation (KTO) India brought Korea’s MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) appeal to centre stage with the successful hosting of the Korea MICE Roadshow 2025. Held in Mumbai, the event aimed to deepen engagement with India’s travel trade, corporate planners, and media professionals, while positioning Korea as a compelling destination for business events and incentive travel. Attracting over 150 attendees, the roadshow unveiled Korea’s comprehensive offerings for the Indian MICE segment—including dedicated visa support, infrastructure readiness, and experiential add-ons. Among the standout announcements was Korea’s MICE Group Visa facilitation, which provides eligible Indian groups with waived visa fees, express processing, and simplified documentation—making access to Korea more streamlined than ever for business travellers. Further enriching Korea’s value proposition was an in-depth showcase of KTO’s tiered MICE Support Program. Indian groups can access support ranging from souvenirs and cultural performances to chartered transport, K-pop themed booths, gala dinners, and even video highlights capturing the entire journey. Optional inclusions such as welcome receptions, K-food trucks, and team-building experiences were presented as ways to elevate the Korean MICE experience beyond the boardroom. “It was a pleasure to see such strong participation in Mumbai, with over 150 attendees including MICE travel agents, corporates, and media,” said Myong Kil Yun, Regional Director, India & SAARC Countries, KTO. “This level of interest reflects the growing curiosity about Korea as a compelling new destination for business and incentive travel. With our dedicated support programs, we are confident Korea will become a preferred choice for the Indian market.” The event also marked a celebratory moment as Indian actress Hina Khan, who was recently appointed as Honorary Ambassador of Korea Tourism, was felicitated on stage. Having just returned from a KTO-hosted familiarisation trip covering Seoul, Incheon, and Gangwon State, she shared personal highlights of her journey. “I am truly grateful to be named the Honorary Ambassador of Korea Tourism,” said Khan. “My recent trip to Korea was eye-opening—from walking through famous K-Drama locations to enjoying thoughtfully prepared vegetarian meals. Korea feels both modern and rooted, and I believe Indian travellers will connect deeply with what it offers. It’s a destination that stays with you.” The roadshow concluded with a lively KTO presentation, a K-themed lucky draw, and a networking lunch, reinforcing the potential for Korea to emerge as a strong player in the outbound MICE segment from India. With tailored support and a rising cultural affinity, Korea is fast carving a niche as a next-gen MICE destination for Indian corporates and planners. Share this:FacebookX
