Saudia Expands Indian Operations to Boost Connectivity and Tourism

December 2, 2024 | Press Release

Saudia, Saudi Arabia’s national carrier, is reinforcing its commitment to the Indian market with enhanced operations and services, as part of its ambitious Vision 2030 strategy. With over five decades of service in India, the airline is set to strengthen connectivity and cater to the growing demand from Indian travellers, aiming to attract 7.5 million Indian visitors annually by 2030.

A Strong Foundation of Service
Saudia’s journey in India began in 1965 with its inaugural flight to Mumbai. Today, it operates 54 weekly flights across six major cities—Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Cochin, and Kozhikode—making it a preferred choice for Indian passengers traveling to Saudi Arabia and beyond. This expansion aligns with Saudi Arabia’s goal of becoming a global tourism hub, targeting 330 million visitors by the end of the decade.

Innovative Enhancements for Indian Travellers
Saudia is focused on increasing flight frequencies and introducing tailored services for Indian passengers traveling for leisure, business, and religious pilgrimages such as Hajj and Umrah. In a move to elevate the travel experience, the airline launched the BETA version of Travel Companion (TC), an AI-driven platform offering personalized solutions for booking hotels, transportation, and activities.

Additionally, Saudia has revamped its AlFursan loyalty program to simplify mileage tracking, reward management, and membership upgrades, reflecting its dedication to seamless customer experiences.

Fleet Expansion and Vision 2030 Goals
As part of its growth strategy, Saudia is introducing 105 new aircraft to enhance capacity and connectivity. This fleet expansion supports the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which aims to position Saudi Arabia as a premier global tourism destination. The airline’s efforts will facilitate increased travel for religious, business, and leisure purposes, fostering stronger ties between India and Saudi Arabia.

Saudia’s expanded operations in India mark a significant step towards meeting evolving traveler demands while supporting the Kingdom’s transformative tourism ambitions. With innovative digital solutions, increased flights, and modernized fleets, Saudia is poised to provide an unparalleled travel experience for Indian passengers.
