Seven Seas Explorer to cruise Australia in 2020-21

Regent Seven Seas Cruises has announced that Seven Seas Explorer will cruise Australia and New Zealand during its 2020-21 season for the first time since the ultra-luxury ship launched in 2016. Explorer sails into Darwin on December 28, 2020, and will offer nine itineraries across Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the South Pacific, many departing or disembarking in Sydney. Among them is a 14-night Grandeur of New Zealand sailing between Auckland and Sydney and an 18-night Koalas to Komodos cruise from Sydney to Bali. Select sailings also have three-night pre- and post-cruise land programs.

Silversea Cruises has announced the world's first Expedition World Cruise. The 167-day voyage on Silver Cloud will call at 107 destinations in 30 countries. Guests  will be able to visit remote destinations with an expedition team and experts in remote travel. It departs Ushuaia on January 30, 2021, visiting Antarctica and the Chilean fiords before sailing to Pacific destinations such as Easter Island and Pitcairn Island. Among other regions visited are the Kimberley, Indonesia, Sumatra and Sri Lanka. The cruise concludes by exploring Iceland and Svalbard and finishes in Tromso in Norway on July 16, 2021.

Peregrine Adventures has launched new expeditions to Antarctica on Ocean Endeavour that will continue the company's focus on sustainable cruising, such as sustainable sourcing of seafood, avoidance of single-use plastics, and use of biodegradable and phosphate-free cleaning products. Peregrine, which already carbon-offsets all adventure cruises and polar expeditions, says these new voyages to the world's most pristine environment will see it double its carbon offsets. The Antarctic cruises begin from October 2020 and will include activities with specialist guides, such as sea kayaking, snowshoeing, photography tours and ice camping.

Latitude 33 has rolled out a splendid 34-night Coast to the Cape & Big Cats itinerary in 2020 that starts in Lisbon, includes a 24-night cruise to Cape Town on Regent's Seven Seas Voyager, and concludes with a safari at South Africa's renowned Sabi Sabi Earth Lodge. The cruise follows Africa's west coast, calling at Santa Cruz de La Palma, Tenerife and the Cape Verde Islands before visiting mainland ports such as Dakar in Senegal, tiny Gambian capital Banjul, Abidjan in the Ivory Coast and Lome in Togo. The journey departs on November 11, 2020.

Oceania Cruises has an epic new Around the World in 180 Days journey aboard Insignia, which will sail more than 72,000 nautical kilometres and visit 100 ports in 44 countries across six continents. The world cruise departs Miami on January 9, 2021 and finishes in New York City on July 9, 2021. Among highlights are three days in both Yangon and Istanbul, and overnight stays in ports as diverse as Bora Bora, Hong Kong, Singapore, Jerusalem, Venice and Lisbon. Overnight land tour options take in Angkor Wat, the Taj Mahal and the Pyramids.
