SpiceJet to Fly 15,500 Pilgrims for Haj 2025, Secures Operations from Four Cities

December 2, 2024 | Press Release

SpiceJet has secured rights to operate Haj flights in 2025, marking another milestone in its successful history of facilitating this sacred journey. The airline will transport 15,500 pilgrims next year, an 18% increase compared to 2024, when it carried 13,000 pilgrims. This year, SpiceJet will operate from four key cities—Kolkata, Guwahati, Srinagar, and Gaya.

The 2025 Haj operations will feature over 100 special flights using a mix of narrow-body and wide-body aircraft, generating an anticipated revenue of ₹185 crore. This reflects the airline’s consistent focus on this lucrative segment since it began offering dedicated Haj services in 2019.

For the 2024 season, SpiceJet deployed two wide-body Airbus A340 aircraft, each accommodating 324 passengers, ensuring a seamless travel experience for pilgrims. Building on this success, the airline plans to further enhance services in 2025, aiming for a comfortable and smooth journey for all passengers.

Debojo Maharshi, Chief Business Officer at SpiceJet, expressed the airline’s pride in contributing to such an important spiritual journey. “Haj operations are a significant revenue generator for us but, more importantly, they are a matter of immense pride. We are fully committed to delivering a seamless, comfortable, and memorable travel experience for our passengers,” he said.
