Visit St.Petersburg organises trade roadshow in Mumbai and New Delhi News Visit St.Petersburg recently organised a travel trade roadshow in Mumbai and was attended by close to 100 travel experts from the city. ‘Welcome to St.Petersburg!’ roadshow brought together a delegation of few of the leading DMC operators and hoteliers from the city and focused on enhancing destination knowledge among the Indian travel experts. The event was organised by the Committee for Tourism Development of Saint Petersburg and the St. Petersburg state budgetary institution “City Tourist Information Bureau”. Speaking at the event, Alexey Surovtsev, Consul general of the Russian Federation in Mumbai said, “I am happy to welcome all of you at this first roadshow by St.Petersburg, especially being held in the year of 75th anniversary of Russia and India’s diplomatic relations! Today, in these constantly changing times, we value true partnerships and India is definitely one of the major partners for Russia. So, let’s develop our close ties also in tourism exchange. Indian travellers are as warmly welcome now as they have been before!” Prashant Chaudhary, Official Partner of Visit Saint Petersburg in India said, “This year marks 55 years of relations between sister cities Mumbai and St. Petersburg. We are aiming to promote St. Petersburg as a year-round destination in the Indian market – be the summer or winter season, the city is worth exploring in every season. St. Petersburg offers to be an ideal destination not just for MICE, family groups and leisure travellers but also for India’s ever-growing wedding celebrations market and film tourism.” The series of events of the Committee for Tourism Development of St. Petersburg in September-November this year include the promotion of the city as a tourist destination in the markets of India, Vietnam, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
