A New Era for Asian Cruising: The Grand Comeback of StarCruises and Dream Cruises

February 26, 2025 | Press Release

The tides of Asian cruising are changing as Resorts World Cruises embarks on a historic transformation, reviving two legendary cruise brands—StarCruises and Dream Cruises. This strategic move marks a return to the industry’s roots, reintroducing names that shaped the region’s cruise landscape for over 30 years.

Resorts World Cruises, which temporarily carried the torch post-pandemic, has successfully welcomed nearly two million passengers since its launch in June 2022. Now, with a bold vision for the future, the brand is realigning its fleet under these iconic banners. Over the next three months, the transition will see Resorts World One rechristened as Star Navigator, joining Star Voyager under StarCruises, while Genting Dream continues its journey under Dream Cruises.

A Milestone Achievement for Resorts World Cruises – The Triumphant Return of StarCruises and Dream Cruises!
“Thank you for your continuous support and trust. Today, we are thrilled and proud to officially announce the dazzling return of two leading brands in the Asian cruise market – StarCruises and Dream Cruises! This is not just a brand upgrade but also a significant milestone in our long-term vision for the growth of the Asian cruise industry,” said Michael Goh, President of Resorts World Cruises.

Staying True to Our Roots – 30 Years of Excellence, Ready for a New Voyage
The return of StarCruises and Dream Cruises marks our unwavering commitment to the Asian cruise market. “With 30 years of expertise, we have consistently led the industry, navigating through challenges, including the pandemic, to ensure the steady recovery and growth of cruise tourism in Asia. Ushering in an exciting new chapter, Resorts World Cruises is excited to commence its transition to the revitalised StarCruises and Dream Cruises brands. We recognise that while the market continues to evolve, travellers’ expectations for high-quality cruise experiences remain unchanged. This brand evolution reflects our confidence in the future and underscores our dedication to professionalism and innovation,” said Goh.

The Transitional Mission of Resorts World Cruises – Delivering Steady Growth with a Strong Foundation
“Since its maiden voyage in June 2022, Resorts World Cruises has focused on stable operations and market development to lay a solid foundation for future growth. Over the past two years, we have welcomed nearly 2 million passengers, reaffirming market confidence and strengthening our brand value and competitive edge. With this success, we are now introducing a clearer brand structure that offers a more diverse and refined cruise experience,” added Goh.

StarCruises: A New Chapter for a Legacy Brand
With its roots dating back three decades, StarCruises is making a vibrant comeback, catering to a new generation of travellers seeking affordable yet premium lifestyle cruising. The refreshed StarCruises experience will emphasise:
– Affordable luxury with a lifestyle-driven approach.
– World-class entertainment, dining, and themed experiences.
– Mid-sized ships (around 2,000 passengers) for a more intimate and accessible voyage.
– Short, port-intensive itineraries catering to both domestic and Fly-Cruise passengers.

The relaunch begins with Star Navigator, which sets sail from Singapore on March 7, 2025, offering four-night itineraries to Krabi and Penang before relocating to Taiwan for an exclusive eight-month season starting March 28. There, it will chart breathtaking itineraries connecting Taiwan’s scenic coastlines to Japan and South Korea, giving passengers the opportunity to experience cherry blossoms, summer seascapes, and autumn foliage in a single voyage.

Meanwhile, Star Voyager will take to the seas on March 26, 2025, operating from multiple seasonal homeports, including Singapore, Jakarta, Melaka, Bangkok, and Ho Chi Minh City, with additional destinations to be announced.

Dream Cruises: Redefining Luxury at Sea
Dream Cruises is set to usher in a new era of indulgence, catering to travellers seeking sophisticated luxury and world-class service. The brand will offer:
– A refined, upscale cruising experience with unparalleled hospitality.
– Expansive ships accommodating over 3,000 passengers.
– Elite entertainment, fine dining, and curated themed experiences.
– Luxury Fly-Cruise itineraries tailored for modern explorers.

At the heart of Dream Cruises’ revival is Genting Dream, which will remain home-ported in Singapore year-round. Offering opulent voyages to Malaysia and Thailand, it presents the perfect fusion of a cosmopolitan city stay in Singapore with a lavish cruise escape across Southeast Asia.

Charting the Future of Asian Cruising
By clearly defining the identities of StarCruises and Dream Cruises, Resorts World Cruises is setting a new benchmark in the industry. StarCruises will appeal to those seeking vibrant, immersive, and affordable cruising, while Dream Cruises will continue to be the epitome of seafaring elegance.

This ambitious transition not only marks a return to the brand’s origins but also reinforces its commitment to pioneering innovation in the global cruise market. As the countdown begins to the official relaunch, a thrilling new chapter in Asian cruising is ready to set sail—one that promises unparalleled experiences for travellers across the region and beyond.
