Bardish Chagger, Leader of the Government in the Canadian House of Commons and Minister of Small Business and Tourism said she expected to see an increase in tourism between India and Canada in the coming years. Having seen a traffic of more than a quarter million tourists from India to Canada last year, she expects hotel tourism between the countries to develop further. Chagger met several hotel owners and representatives of Meetings, Incentives, Conference and Exhibitions (MICE) in Mumbai. “We are looking at increasing opportunities with the MICE community. Over a million people in Canada plan family trips in India. We want to see increased opportunities in the business world,” she added.
