The announcement highlights five key pillars: Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) tourism, destination weddings, luxury tourism, adventure tourism, and film tourism. Dr. Arabiyat’s visit underscores Jordan’s commitment to enhancing cultural ties and fostering strategic partnerships with India, a vital market for Jordanian tourism. “India is an important source market for Jordan, consistently ranking among our top five markets,” Dr. Arabiyat stated. He praised the efforts of Think Strawberries, Jordan’s representatives in India, for their role in promoting Jordan as an ideal destination for high-value Indian travelers. The visit is also notable for the presence of H.E. Makram Al Queisi, Jordan’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, who is in India to advance efforts to formalize Umm el-Jimal as Jordan’s seventh UNESCO World Heritage site. This significant milestone is expected to further enrich Jordan’s cultural landscape and enhance its global reputation as a custodian of ancient civilizations. Dr. Arabiyat emphasized Jordan’s diverse attractions, including Petra, an ancient city renowned as one of the New 7 Wonders of the World, and the Dead Sea, known for its therapeutic properties. He also highlighted the natural beauty of Wadi Rum and the luxury offerings of Aqaba’s coastal resorts. Jordan’s capital, Amman, offers a vibrant mix of ancient and modern experiences. Jordan’s Vision 2025 includes several strategic initiatives: – Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) Tourism: Jordan aims to become a premier destination for international conferences and corporate events, combining modern infrastructure with historical charm. – Destination Weddings: With iconic sites like Petra and scenic landscapes such as Wadi Rum, Jordan is positioning itself as a top choice for luxury weddings. – Luxury Tourism: The country offers exotic and luxurious properties, reflecting its hospitality and creating memorable experiences. – Adventure Tourism: Jordan provides a range of thrilling experiences, from desert safaris in Wadi Rum to diving in the Red Sea. – Film Tourism: The country’s cinematic appeal is leveraged to attract film enthusiasts and highlight its dramatic landscapes. To enhance travel convenience, Jordan will streamline the visa process, allowing Indian visitors to obtain visas online or upon arrival. Additionally, Royal Jordanian is set to introduce direct flights in 2025, reducing travel time and easing connections between Jordan and India. Jordan will also launch an advanced AI-driven application named Jordan Gate within the next two months. This innovative app is designed to offer personalized interactions with tourists, including tailored recommendations and real-time conversations. “Jordan Gate represents a new standard in tourism marketing and sets us apart as one of the first tourism boards globally to leverage such technology,” Dr. Arabiyat noted. Throughout his visit, Dr. Arabiyat engaged with Indian authorities, tourism stakeholders, and industry leaders to strengthen collaborations and cultural exchanges. These efforts are aimed at boosting tourism cooperation between Jordan and India, driving economic growth, and fostering mutual understanding through targeted marketing and digital campaigns.
