OTOAI Strengthens India’s Global MICE Footprint at Moscow Congress

Press Release | December 25, 2024

Outbound Tour Operators Association of India (OTOAI) made a powerful statement on the global stage during the second edition of the Meet Global MICE Congress (MGMC) in Moscow. Themed “Global Challenges and Trends of the MICE Industry: Towards Sustainable Development through the Prism of Experience and Knowledge of BRICS Countries and the Global South,” the event spotlighted the transformative potential of Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) in an interconnected world.

Attracting over 1,300 participants, MGMC 2024 was a melting pot of ideas, innovations, and industry insights. Representing India’s growing influence in the MICE sector, the OTOAI delegation—led by President Himanshu Kesari Patil and comprising Vice President Shravan Bhalla, General Secretary Siddhartha Khanna, Past President Riaz Munshi, and EC Member ADL Abdul Karim—actively participated in discussions and networking opportunities.

The event was a masterclass in collaboration, featuring 13 sessions helmed by more than 50 global experts. These thought leaders delved into advancements in congress infrastructure, the impact of artificial intelligence, and the power of big data in reshaping the future of business tourism. For OTOAI, MGMC was more than just a conference; it was a gateway to over 2,000 B2B meetings, offering unmatched opportunities to explore new markets and fortify relationships across the BRICS nations and the Global South.

Adding a cultural flourish to the event, initiatives like “Made in Moscow” and “Moscow Tea Time” bridged business and tradition, highlighting Moscow’s unique blend of innovation and heritage. These projects underscored the city’s emergence as a global MICE hub, setting benchmarks for sustainability and cross-cultural collaboration.

As Moscow solidifies its reputation as a business tourism powerhouse, the MGMC 2024 reinforced its role as a pivotal platform for addressing industry challenges and embracing sustainable growth. For OTOAI, this global engagement marked another step in its mission to position India as a leader in the MICE arena, driving progress through collaboration, innovation, and shared expertise.
