Jordan Tourism Board Wraps Up Vibrant Mumbai & Delhi Roadshow, Strengthens India Focus News September 30, 2025 | Press Release The Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) recently wrapped up a two-city roadshow in Mumbai and Delhi, reaffirming its commitment to making Jordan one of the most exciting destinations for Indian travellers. With India emerging as a priority market, the campaign showcased the country’s mix of history, adventure, luxury, and wellness — all tied together with Jordan’s legendary hospitality. His Excellency Yusuf Abdelghani, the Ambassador of Jordan to India, underlined the significance of this growing partnership. “Jordan and India share not only strong diplomatic and economic relations, but also historical and cultural bonds that go back thousands of years. Now, we want to build even stronger bridges through tourism.” A Destination with Something for Everyone From walking through time at Petra — a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World — to desert glamping in Wadi Rum, diving in Aqaba’s Red Sea waters, or indulging in mineral-rich Dead Sea therapies, Jordan positions itself as a destination for every type of traveller. Spiritual seekers can practice yoga under starry skies, while culture lovers can explore ancient Jerash and Amman’s vibrant souks. As Ambassador Abdelghani put it: “Jordan is a land of contrasts from deserts to seas, mountains to ancient cities. We offer Indian travellers the rare chance to explore deep history, natural beauty, and luxurious wellness all in one journey.” Travel Made Easier for Indians Recognizing the importance of accessibility, Royal Jordanian Airlines has introduced direct flights between Mumbai and Amman, with a Delhi–Amman route to follow in early 2026. Jordan has also rolled out an e-visa facility, eliminating the need for in-person embassy visits. “We understand that ease of travel is a key factor in destination choice,” said Ambassador Abdelghani. “With new direct flights and a streamlined e-visa process, we are making Jordan more accessible than ever for our Indian friends.” Weddings, Conferences & Cinema Backdrops Jordan is now drawing attention beyond leisure travel. The Dead Sea region is emerging as a hub for MICE events and corporate retreats, while Petra and Wadi Rum provide dreamlike settings for destination weddings. The cinematic landscapes have also attracted Hollywood and Bollywood productions alike, including The Martian. “We see tremendous potential in MICE, wedding, and film tourism from India,” said Ambassador Abdelghani. “Our landscapes are breathtaking, our service is world-class, and our hospitality is heartfelt. We are ready to support Indian productions and events not just with locations, but with logistics and hospitality that exceed expectations.” A Cultural Bridge That Feels Like Home Beyond tourism, people-to-people ties are strong. With over 25,000 Indians living in Jordan and many Jordanians having studied in India, travellers find an immediate sense of familiarity. “Indians feel at home in Jordan,” shared Ambassador Abdelghani. “Our cultures and values are so close — many Indian visitors are surprised by how familiar everything feels. Jordanians know and respect India deeply — it’s part of our education, our history, and our heart.” Looking Ahead Jordan’s tourism board is setting its sights on positioning the country as more than a destination — as an experience that blends history, spirituality, luxury, and adventure. “We invite our Indian friends to discover Jordan — not just as a destination, but as a second home,” said Ambassador Abdelghani. Adding to this, Munnmun Marwah, COO of Think Strawberries, the official representatives of JTB in India, noted: “India is a vibrant and diverse market with a deep appreciation for meaningful travel experiences. Jordan resonates strongly with Indian travellers — not just for its beauty, but for the warmth of its people and the richness of its culture. We are excited to continue building this bridge, offering unique and unforgettable journeys that connect both our worlds.” Share this:FacebookX
