Swiggy Teams Up with Tourism Western Australia to Bring the Quokka to India News September 29, 2025 | Press Release This World Tourism Day, Indian travellers got a reason to smile — quite literally. Swiggy, India’s leading on-demand convenience platform, has partnered with Tourism Western Australia (TWA) to launch a playful, first-of-its-kind campaign designed to spark wanderlust among Indian consumers. At the centre of the collaboration is the Quokka, dubbed “the world’s happiest animal.” Known globally for its photogenic grin and viral selfies, the Quokka takes on a new role in India — appearing across the Swiggy app and Instamart, from post-order tracking maps to banner ads, encouraging users to take a mental break and imagine a holiday Down Under. The highlight of the campaign is the interactive “Find the Quokka” challenge. Users can explore a gamified digital map of Western Australia and hunt for five hidden Quokka icons across key travel spots. One lucky participant will win return tickets for two to Western Australia, giving Indian travellers a chance to experience the region’s iconic landscapes and joyful experiences in person. Speaking about the campaign, Tom Upson, Director of Markets & Aviation, Tourism Western Australia, said, “India is one of Western Australia’s fastest-growing visitor markets. By joining hands with Swiggy, we aim to inspire more Indian travellers to explore the breathtaking landscapes and welcoming spirit of our state.” Sidharth Bhakoo, Chief Business Officer at Swiggy Food Marketplace, added, “This partnership reflects our vision of going beyond transactions to create meaningful engagement. Bringing the Quokka into the Swiggy experience sparks curiosity and travel inspiration, right in the middle of our users’ daily routines.” The campaign runs from September 28 to October 11, 2025, across major Indian cities including Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Pune, and Chennai — timed perfectly for the festive and holiday planning season. For Indian travellers looking to combine a love for adventure with a pinch of fun, the Quokka has just become the cutest travel companion they didn’t know they needed. Share this:FacebookX
