All you need you know about ‘Nadabet’ – the new border tourism destination in Gujarat

A border viewing point on the India-Pakistan international boundary on the lines of the one at Wagah in Punjab was officially inaugurated this week in Nadabet in Banaskantha district by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The viewing point, which is the first in the state, will be developed as a major tourist attraction including the retreat ceremony where the Border Security Force (BSF) jawans put up a gallant show of marching with pride to end another day of guarding the borders. It also has a weapons display and photo gallery with guns, tanks and other sophisticated devices that help in keeping the border and inland places secure on display.

Distance between Nadabet and Ahmedabad: 230 km (5 hours by road).

There is no direct transfer available as of now for Nadabet. The best option is to hire a car or use your own car to reach. If you want public transport then reach Radhanpur or Santalpur via public transport (bus) and hire a Jeep from there.

Reach Nadabet train: Nearest Railheads: Bhildi, Deesa and Palanpur.

Reach Nadabet by air: The nearest airport to Nada Bet is in Ahmedabad at 203 km.

The Rs 125 crore tourism project aims to offer citizens an opportunity to see first-hand the lifestyle of BSF personnel deployed at the Indo-Pak border to protect the country. The people would get to observe their living conditions, their duties and patriotism, as per a government statement.

Tourist facilities and special attractions at the site include arrival plazas, a lounge, parking facilities, an auditorium with a seating capacity of 500 people, a changing room, shops and restaurants, a ‘Sarhad Gatha’ exhibition centre and museum, decorative lighting, solar tree and solar rooftop panels.
