Bahrain’s Tourism Flourishes at OTM 2024, Setting Sights on Indian Market Expansion

In a vibrant showcase of post-pandemic resurgence, Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) made its debut appearance at the Outbound Travel Mart (OTM) 2024 in Mumbai, India, underscoring the kingdom’s commitment to revitalizing its tourism sector. Held at the Jio World Convention Centre from February 8 to 10, 2024, OTM 2024 provided an ideal platform for Bahrain to forge deeper connections with the Indian travel market, with a specific emphasis on nurturing the MICE, wedding, and leisure segments.

Throughout the three-day event, BTEA representatives actively engaged with India’s travel community, spotlighting Bahrain’s allure as a premier holiday and event destination. Notably, BTEA’s booth garnered the coveted ‘Best Design and Decoration’ award, symbolising its dedication to excellence in showcasing Bahrain’s tourism potential at OTM 2024.

Sally Sedky, Head of Tourism Marketing, BTEA, underscored the significance of India as a key market, stating, “Our participation in OTM 2024 provided a platform to showcase Bahrain’s vibrant tourism offerings to the Indian market. Our interactions with industry professionals and media during the event have been instrumental in solidifying ties and positioning Bahrain as a top destination for Indian travellers.”

Demonstrating a commitment to showcasing Bahrain’s diverse tourism landscape, BTEA assembled a consortium of 11 esteemed partners for the event. Among them were Gulf Air, Bahrain’s national carrier; Exhibition World Bahrain; The Gulf Hotel Bahrain; The K Hotel Bahrain; Lagoona Beach Luxury Resorts and Spa; The Westin, Le Méridien City Centre Bahrain; along with prominent Destination Management Companies (DMCs) like Caravan Travel and Tours, Vacanza Bahrain, Farhat Tours, Bahrain International Travel, and Best of Bahrain.

As Bahrain continues to emerge as a sought-after destination in the global tourism arena, its presence at OTM 2024 signals a strategic step towards expanding its footprint in the lucrative Indian market, promising mutually beneficial collaborations and enhanced travel experiences for Indian visitors seeking memorable journeys in the kingdom of Bahrain.
