Air India, the country's premier global airline, is set to inaugurate a new non-stop service between Delhi and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, commencing on 15 September 2024. This development is part of the airline's strategic expansion into Southeast Asia, leveraging its fleet of Airbus A320neo aircraft configured with two classes to operate the daily route. The introduction of this new route marks a significant enhancement of Air India's presence in Southeast Asia, offering an additional flight option for the growing number of travellers between India and Malaysia. This move is expected to open up new travel opportunities for Malaysian passengers as well, connecting them seamlessly to Air India’s extensive global network. "We are happy to support the fast-growing tourism and trade corridor between India and Malaysia with this new daily service," said Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial & Transformation Officer at Air India. "Leveraging our robust global network, this route will not only serve travellers flying between the two nations but also offer convenient one-stop connections for travellers from Europe and North America seeking to explore the wonders of Malaysia." The daily flights to Kuala Lumpur will facilitate easy one-stop connections through Delhi for passengers coming from the U.S., Canada, the UK, and Europe. Currently, Air India operates non-stop flights from India to five destinations in Southeast Asia, including Singapore, Bangkok, Phuket, Ho Chi Minh City, and Yangon.
