Celebrity Cruises is enthusiastic about expanding into the Asian market

Celebrity Edge, a luxurious cruise ship worth USD 1 billion, will make a 12-night sailing journey to touch Indian waters in November 2023. Although this sailing is already sold out, interested individuals can still experience the ship’s luxury by booking sailings from Singapore to Australia. From December 2023 to April 2024, the ship will be homeported in Australia, offering sailings of varying lengths from Sydney and Auckland (6 nights to 13 nights), covering 22 ports in Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific. Additionally, another ship, Celebrity Millennium, will embark on a 12-night Spice Route itinerary from Mumbai in December 2023, stopping at several other ports (Goa, Colombo, Hambantota, Phuket, Penang, Kuala Lumpur) before concluding in Singapore.

During an exclusive trade event in Mumbai, Tim Jones, Vice President & Managing Director – Asia-Pacific, Celebrity Cruises, expressed his excitement about the Indian market and revealed that the company, with the help of local partner TIRUN, intends to welcome more Indian guests on their Asian sailings in the 2023-24 season to gain a better understanding of the market. Jones also mentioned that Celebrity Edge, launched in 2018 and captained by Kate McCue, the industry’s first female captain, brought a unique style of thinking by collaborating with designers not previously involved in the cruise business.
