Maldivian to introduce Bengaluru – Male flights starting October 30, 2023

Maldivian, the flagship carrier of the Maldives, has revealed plans for the introduction of new flight routes to Bangalore, India. Commencing on October 30, 2023, the airline is set to operate two flights every week, specifically on Mondays and Thursdays, utilising its Airbus A320 aircraft.

Departing from Velana International Airport at 9:35, the flight en route from Male to Bangalore will touch down at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) at 12:15. Conversely, flights departing Bangalore will leave KIA at 13:15 and arrive in Male at 14:50.

This newly established route aims to offer travellers a seamless and direct connection between the picturesque Maldives and Bangalore, a prominent city in India. Ticket sales for these flights became available on August 16th. The flight schedule has been thoughtfully curated to accommodate the preferences of both leisure and business travellers, offering options for mid-week and weekend trips. Furthermore, passengers can easily access various destinations within the Maldives through the extensive Maldivian domestic network, encompassing 17 destinations.

The addition of this service aligns with Maldivian’s continuous efforts to expand its network and enhance travel opportunities for its valued clientele. The airline remains steadfast in its commitment to delivering top-notch service and a delightful travel experience for all passengers.

As a comprehensive full-service carrier, Maldivian will provide a total of 138 seats in the economy class and an additional 14 premium economy class seats. This underlines Maldivian’s strong dedication to catering to diverse travel segments. For premium economy class passengers, there’s a promise of a heightened travel experience. This includes complimentary access to lounges at both Bengaluru and Male during the departure phase, complemented by an excellent in-flight product on board the aircraft.

Maldivian celebrated the launch of the new route with an event held at Bengaluru’s Chancery Pavilion hotel on October 9th. The event was attended by an impressive turnout of over 100 travel trade professionals from various parts of India.

During the launch event, Mohamed Mihad, the Managing Director of Maldivian, expressed his enthusiasm about the new route. He emphasised that Bangalore stands as one of India’s prominent markets for high-quality leisure travel to the beautiful Maldives. Mihad highlighted that Maldivian’s commitment to providing exceptional service and well-structured schedules will play a pivotal role in boosting tourism between India and the Maldives.
