Purvi Jhaveri, Sunday Pure Holidays #RiseLikeAPhoenix Special Feature ‘Fear can only be mastered outside of your comfort zone.’ Started off in 1997 with a Mumbai based travel company, Purvi Jhaveri, Director, Sunday Pure Holidays worked in different job titles, roles and departments to reach where she is today. However, each time she had to move out of her comfort zone to achieve growth. But it was not easy. She said, “I met with a major accident in 2006 and quit my sales job with a cruise company. However, after being bedridden for 6 months, I looked out for a job and was offered a role in operations and product development. I was clueless about this role and even planned to give it a miss but sitting at home was not an option for a workaholic like me. So yeah, I took the challenge to learn it.” Slowly, operations became her forte and soon she bagged a role of a CEO in a corporate travel company. On the other hand, her husband (Jyot Zaveri) started Sunday Pure Holidays in 2010 due to his increasing interest in tourism business. She was hesitant to leave a stable job and join her husband to run a brand new travel company. She said, “I’ve always been a very organised person with well-planned future and preferred keeping things that way. I was not comfortable with change. But it was because of Jyot’s confidence that I took the leap of faith and joined him. I still remember Jyot saying, “Maybe it won’t work out. But maybe seeing if it does, it will be the best adventure ever.” Today, her company is one of the most popular brands in tailor made holidays. Sometimes it is good to be in uncomfortable situations because it is in finding our way out of such difficulties that we learn valuable lessons.
