In a bid to fortify its position as a top travel destination, Qatar Tourism spearheaded a delegation comprising 13 esteemed partners from the hospitality sector at the prestigious OTM Mumbai 2024 event. Renowned as one of Asia’s premier Travel Trade Shows, the three-day extravaganza unfolded from February 8th to 10th, captivating the attention of over 35,000 industry professionals at the sprawling Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai.

Marking its grandest presence to date, Qatar Tourism’s double-decker pavilion stretched across an expansive 200 sqm, brimming with captivating activations. Among the highlights was an immersive augmented reality showcase, where attendees were transported into the heart of Qatar’s natural splendour, interacting closely with its iconic wildlife displayed on state-of-the-art LED screens.

Strategic Market Penetration

The event served as a strategic juncture for Qatar Tourism to foster connections with key markets outlined in its visionary 2030 strategy. Notably, India emerged as a pivotal focus, with the country contributing significantly to Qatar’s tourism landscape. In 2023 alone, Qatar welcomed approximately 420,000 visitors from India, constituting a noteworthy 10% of the total international arrivals, solidifying India’s status as the second-highest source market after Saudi Arabia.
