Top of Mount Titlis

Here is a video which proves why Engelberg deserves more than just a day tour in Switzerland.

Engelberg (literally ‘Angel Mountain’) attracts two kinds of pilgrims: those seeking spiritual enlightenment in its Benedictine monastery and those worshiping the virgin powder on its divine slopes. At 3,238 metres above sea level, it is the highest summit of the range north of the Susten Pass, between the Bernese Oberland and Central Switzerland. It is mainly accessed from Engelberg (Obwalden) on the north side and is famous as the site of the world’s first revolving cable car.

Framed by the glacial bulk of Mt Titlis and frosted peaks, it’s little wonder the scenery here features in many a Bollywood production. It’s a miracle that despite its deep snow, impeccable off-piste credentials and proximity to Lucerne, Engelberg remains lesser known than other resorts of its size. Mount Titlis Switzerland is one of the best snow mountains in Europe. You can take a Mount Titlis tour from Zurich or a half day tour of Mount Titlis from Lucerne.
