The 65th TAAI Convention was held in the city of Kunming, China from November 26-29, 2018. The convention proved to be a game-changer in improving bilateral relations in terms of tourism for both India and China. The convention, also known as - India Travel Congress, was attended by over 500 delegates from across India and top dignitaries from Yunnan Tourism Department and Kunming city. The 3-day convention was focused on the theme - 'Tourism Beyond Boundaries' and proved right on many occasions - from having speakers from Australia, China and India to evening performances done by Russian dance troupes on Indian songs.

The convention kick-started with a golf tournament with players participating from both India and China.The convention also featured it's popular exhibition - ITTE (India Travel & Tourism Expo) which pushed dialogues between travel professionals from both countries. The delegates also got the opportunity to explore the city of Kunming post business sessions in the afternoon. In fact, good number of Indian delegates got to experience different parts of Yunnan Province through pre & post tours.
